Resources

Here’s a list of useful resources and websites we use often and highly recommend!

Happy Cow

Happy Cow is a fantastic tool to find Vegan and Vegan-friendly places near you! Their app is the ideal travel companion when visiting a new city (or even a new part in town!). Not only reserved to restaurants, the app will also show you vegan-friendly stores, hotels, markets, food trucks and more!

Happy Cow is a collaborative platform fuelled by its community, so if you give it a go, remember to help contributing to it by adding some reviews of your favourite restaurants, pictures or even add any restaurant or place that might not yet be listed in their platform!

Available through their website and also through iOS and Android apps.

Barnivore

Not all alcoholic drinks are vegan (Yes I know, “whaaaaat?“). I didn’t know this before going vegetarian/vegan.

The reason for some drinks not to be vegan is because of the filtering process some drinks follow before their bottling process, as some companies still use animal products such as fish bladders, gelatine, egg whites, sea shells and other animal products which capture impurities.

Although we’re seeing how more companies have started adding a vegan trademark or vegan label to their drinks, it is still hard to find out which drinks are fully animal free, and this is where Barnivore comes into play. They are a collaborative online database where to find which drinks are safe for consumption and, in most cases, including additional information from the companies about their filtering and bottling process.

Abillion

Another fantastic resource is abillion. Abillion is a great social media platform, ideal for finding new vegan-friendly restaurants, stores and products near you, and where you’ll be able to follow friends and other vegan influencers and post your own pictures and reviews.Think of it as a cross between Instagram and Happy Cow (a match made in heaven?)

And the most amazing thing about them? They promise to raise 1$ for every review in their platform, allowing you to choose which cause will that money be donated to, with more than 80 causes available around the world. At the moment of writing this article, $1,219,777 have been donated to 84 different causes. What’s not to like about that?

Veganuary

Veganuary is an amazing nonprofit that operates worldwide, and they’re mostly known by the Veganuary challenge, in which they inspire and support non-vegans to try going vegan during the month of January. Thanks to the success in their campaigns, many stores and restaurants are joining the Veganuary challenge as well, offering complete menus and lots of new products during the month of January. Over 500.000 people signed up for Veganuary in 2021!

They offer lots of resources on how to first go vegan, along with eating guides, recipes and more!

Cowspiracy: The Facts

Cowspiracy is one of our most recommended documentaries that explores the terrible truth behind the animal agriculture industry and how it is one of the main causes of the climate crisis we’re living in. On top of that, they have created a very resourceful website linking all the resources and data they used to produce the film, including many studies on greenhouse gases, waste, rainforest or wildlife. You can find all these details and more at https://www.cowspiracy.com/facts
